It’s with great pleasure that we announce the inauguration of the newly formed Legal Aid Unit at JALCA Law Firm on the 9th of November 2022. We were honored to be joined by His Excellency, Ambassador Aidan O’hara, Ambassador for the European Union Union in Sudan and Mr. Dismas Nyamwana, Senior Protection Officer at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.
JALCA Law Firm’s legal aid unit is a non-profit unit that aims to protect and advance the legal rights of vulnerable and low-income groups of the community by providing free legal representation, legal consultations and advocacy in Sudan. The birth of this unit stems from a dire need to remove financial obstacles that prevent these communities in Sudan from accessing a fair justice system. Our goal is to level the playing field and ensure that everyone can have equal access to the justice system and legal information.
The unit’s priority is to serve, initially, three key vulnerable groups that includes children, refugees and death-raw inmates. To deliver such noble services, the unit is planing to work in collaboration with various national and international organizations . Due to the utmost needs of these services, we are looking forward to induct more volunteers into the unit in the near future to equip them with the highest quality training to achieve the goals of the unit and live up to the expectations.
The legal aid unit emphasizes on serving and protecting the rights of these vulnerable and low-income groups in order to create a leveled playing field within the justice system in Sudan. To achieve that common goals, we urge and all concerned governmental and non-governmental organizations working in Sudan to spare no effort in providing the support and assistance needed for the unit to fulfill its mission.

JALCA Law Firm is honored to announce the official nomination of its Managing Partner Dr Omer Awadalla Jaeedy as Legal Counselor/Advocate to the French Embassy in Sudan for the duration of three years.
Such nomination occurred as a recognition of long standing cooperations between JALCA and the Embassy, the French School and other related institutions.
We avail ourselves of this opportunity to renew the assurances of strengthening the cooperation with the foreign Embassies and International organizations in general and the French Embassy in particular.
